THE PORT OF ENTRY
FOR LPG IN CHILE

Delivering clean energy to the country for over three decades.

Energy for life

Since 1994, Gasmar has been a key player in the supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Chile. In 2023, we began a new phase with a shift in our business model toward logistics specialization, operating infrastructure that provides excellent services for the unloading, storage, and distribution of gas imported by our customers. We operate the largest LPG import terminal complex on South America’s Pacific coast, with strategic facilities in Quintero and Mejillones.

MISSION

To provide a reliable service for the reception, storage, and delivery of liquefied gas, as part of an efficient logistics chain for the sustainable supply of clean fuels.

PROCESSES: OUR COMMITMENT TO PREVENTION

Gasmar’s daily work is closely tied to risk prevention. We continuously inspect our infrastructure and equipment, and we train our employees to handle potential emergency situations.

UNLOADING AT THE DOCKS

On average, 20 times a year in Quintero and 8 times in Mejillones, Gasmar receives—at third-party port facilities located directly in front of its plants—a ship loaded with liquefied gas, typically originating from the United States.

Distribution

At our Quintero plant, LPG is shipped via pipeline and tanker trucks. The total annual volume exceeds 500,000 tons, equivalent to nearly 38 million gas cylinders per season. In Mejillones, all shipments are made via tanker trucks, totaling around 50,000 tons per year.

Storage

With a storage capacity of 145,000 m³ in Quintero and 20,000 m³ in Mejillones (under construction), Gasmar manages a permanent stock of LPG to serve Chile’s needs.

Safety

Gasmar’s logistics operations are safe and low-risk. This is due to the nature of its functions: unloading, storing, and dispatching liquefied gas—operations that do not involve production processes. We understand that safety is non-negotiable and at the heart of our work; we operate under rigorous international standards.

WHAT IS LIQUEFIED GAS USED FOR?

We are part of everyday life for Chileans. Primarily used in residential settings, liquefied gas is used for cooking, providing hot water, and heating homes. To a lesser extent, it also supplies the industrial sector and electricity generation, serving as an excellent complement to renewable energy sources
